State Licensed Child Care
Afternoon Playgroup
(New State Regulations in Effect 3/17/06)
Afternoon Playgroup ("PMPG") and the room in which the program occurs has met the necessary state licensing standards for opening and must comply with regulations set by the NC State Department of Health and Human Services. The after school child care program is open only to students enrolled in Miss Julie's multi-age (morning) preschool class (effective 3/17/06). However, school-age children enrolled at MCCS (kindergarten and up) may also attend PMPG. Miss Julie's class is a multi-age class serving ages 3, 4 and 5 (students must turn 3 by March 16). At noon, Ms. Cheryl Stahl, the Lead Teacher in PMPG, takes over and is in charge of the day-to-day operation of the afterschool program (childcare) along with other experienced and trained support staff familiar with MCCS children.
The hours of PMPG are from 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m. at a cost of $15 per day. For parents needing child care from 12 to 3 p.m., the cost is $12 per day; or from 3 to 5:30 p.m. for $ 8 per day. (Penalty imposed for late pickup.) As stated in the above paragraph, students must be enrolled at MCCS in Miss Julie's class or of school-age (kindergarten and up) to be eligible for participation.
Parents need to provide their child with a nutritious lunch and afternoon snack. Refrigeration is provided for lunches and the staff has access to a microwave, if needed.
Space is limited and attendance is restricted as described above (state policy). Please inquire for futher details.
